Raleigh and Charleston Railroad

The Raleigh and Charleston Railroad was a railroad serving eastern South Carolina and eastern North Carolina in the early twentieth century, connecting Lumberton, North Carolina, to South Marion, South Carolina. It was formed in 1905 out of the reorganization of the Carolina Northern Railroad, which had gone into receivership in 1902. The Seaboard Air Line purchased the company in December 1911, and the line was listed as abandoned during Seaboard's own reorganization in the early 1940s.
