Colonel's Island Railroad

The Colonel's Island Railroad was a short switching and terminal railroad created in the late 1960s as part of a port improvement project at Brunswick, Georgia, and operated by the Georgia Ports Authority under the reporting mark CISD. It ran about 33 miles of track serving the port and surrounding Brunswick and Colonel's Island area. The company was disbanded in 1998 after selling most of its assets; the Golden Isles Terminal Railroad took over operation of the line while the Georgia Ports Authority kept ownership of the track.
