Chelsea Branch Railroad

The Chelsea Branch Railroad was a short-lived railroad company in the U.S. state of New Jersey that operated from 1889 to 1896. It was chartered to build a 1.136 mile line connecting Maine Avenue in Atlantic City with the nearby community of Chelsea, and its day to day operations were handled by the Camden and Atlantic Railroad. In May 1896 the company combined with the West Jersey Railroad, the Alloway and Quinton Railroad, the Camden and Atlantic Railroad and the Philadelphia, Marlton and Medford Railroad to form the West Jersey and Seashore Railroad, which later became part of the Pennsylvania Railroad system serving Atlantic City.
