The Monongahela Railway was a coal-hauling Class II railroad operating in Pennsylvania and West Virginia from 1900 until it merged into Conrail on May 1, 1993. It was jointly controlled by the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad, and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, and by the end of 1970 it operated 193 miles of road and 281 miles of track, moving 446 million ton-miles of revenue freight that year.
