Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad

The Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad, reporting mark CORP, is a Class II regional railroad operating between Weed, California, and Eugene, Oregon. Its route was formerly a main line owned by the Southern Pacific Railroad, which sold it on December 31, 1994, and the Central Oregon and Pacific began independent operation in 1995. Genesee and Wyoming acquired the railroad as part of its purchase of RailAmerica in late 2012, making it a subsidiary of that larger holding company. The railroad's main line runs 306 miles, 58 of them in California and 248 in Oregon, and it is headquartered in Roseburg, Oregon, carrying mainly logs, lumber products and plywood, on the order of 17,000 rail cars a year. Until 2007 it also operated the 136 mile Coos Bay branch, another former Southern Pacific line, which was later sold to the Port of Coos Bay and reopened as the Coos Bay Rail Link in 2011.
