Glasgow, Yoker and Clydebank Railway

The Glasgow, Yoker and Clydebank Railway was a Scottish railway company that opened in 1882, giving shipyards and other industry in the area that became Clydebank a rail connection. It began as a purely local line joining the North British Railway only at Stobcross, running from a junction near the present-day Jordanhill railway station to a terminus at Clydebank, and was extended to Dalmuir in 1897 as the industry it served grew in importance. Most of its route remains in use today as the Yoker section of the North Clyde suburban network.
