Scottish Railroads

This child group collects Railroads of the United Kingdom and Ireland members headquartered or based in Scotland, spanning the two largest of the five major Scottish railway companies before the 1923 Grouping (the Caledonian Railway and the North British Railway), the three smaller of that same group (the Glasgow and South Western Railway, the Highland Railway and the Great North of Scotland Railway), and a number of smaller nineteenth century Scottish lines serving Ayrshire, the Borders, the Clyde valley and the Highlands (the Ayr and Dalmellington Railway, the Peebles Railway, the Callander and Oban Railway, the Cromarty and Dingwall Light Railway). At 16 members it sits well under this atlas's oversized-group threshold and needs no further split.
