The Minehead Railway was an English railway company that extended an earlier line built by the separate West Somerset Railway Company from Watchet to the seaside town of Minehead in Somerset, opening the extension on July 16, 1874. The Great Western Railway went on to absorb both the Minehead Railway and the original West Somerset Railway Company, running them together as a single branch line, part of which survives today as the West Somerset Railway heritage line between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead.
