Parry People Movers

Parry People Movers Ltd was a small British manufacturer of lightweight railcars that use flywheel energy storage for traction, allowing them to run on electrified lines without needing overhead wires or a third rail. Founded by engineer John Parry, the company built one prototype and two production vehicles, which entered service with a British commuter operator as the British Rail Class 139, before the company was liquidated in 2023 following Parry's death earlier that year.
