Donets Railway is one of six regional rail systems owned and operated by the Ukrainian state railway company Ukrzaliznytsia, serving the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. It is part-owned by the Ukrainian government, and Russia has claimed the system since its 2014 military intervention in Ukraine, so only part of the network remains operational. In December 2014 a regional branch office was created and its headquarters moved from Donetsk to Lyman.
