Southwestern Railways

Southwestern Railways, known by the reporting mark PZZ, is a regional branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, the national railway company of Ukraine, headquartered in Kyiv, founded in 1870 and serving central and northern Ukraine across the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi and Sumy oblasts over roughly 4,668 kilometers of track. Its name reflects its historical position southwest of Moscow within the former Russian and Soviet railway network, even though its territory lies in northern Ukraine, and in February 2025 the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory flagged the name itself as reflecting Russian imperial framing.
