Qatar Airways is the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, headquartered in Doha and operating from its hub at Hamad International Airport. Established in 1993 and relaunched under new state ownership in 1997, it grew over the following two decades into one of the world's largest long-haul carriers by international destinations served, joining the Oneworld alliance in 2013 as its first Middle Eastern member. Qatar Airways has been ranked the world's best airline multiple times by the Skytrax passenger survey and operates a large widebody fleet including Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350s, alongside a significant minority shareholding in British Airways and Iberia parent International Airlines Group.
