Life Sciences Tools and Services

This group collects Health Care sector members that supply the instruments, reagents, laboratory equipment, contract research and contract development and manufacturing services used by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to discover, test and manufacture medicines, rather than developing or selling a medicine of their own: DNA sequencing and diagnostic instrument makers, analytical and laboratory instrument manufacturers, contract research organizations that run clinical trials on behalf of drug developers, and contract manufacturers that produce biologic drugs under contract for other companies. This group is kept apart from Health Care Equipment and Supplies, reserved for makers of finished medical devices and supplies used directly in patient diagnosis or treatment rather than tools used upstream in drug research and manufacturing.
