Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is an American clinical laboratory company headquartered in Secaucus, New Jersey, one of the largest providers of diagnostic testing services in the United States. Its history traces to MetPath, a clinical laboratory company founded in 1967 that was later acquired by Corning Incorporated, and the business was spun off from Corning as an independent public company under the Quest Diagnostics name in 1996. Quest Diagnostics operates a nationwide network of laboratories and patient service centers that perform diagnostic testing on behalf of physicians, hospitals, and health systems, processing a very large volume of routine and specialized clinical tests each year.
