HCA Healthcare, Inc. is an American for-profit hospital and healthcare-facility operator headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, founded in 1968 as Hospital Corporation of America by Thomas Frist Sr., Thomas Frist Jr. and Jack Massey. It grew into one of the largest hospital systems in the United States, operating a large network of hospitals and outpatient facilities across the country.
