Moderna, Inc. is an American biotechnology company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, founded in 2010 by Flagship Pioneering along with scientists including Derrick Rossi and Robert Langer to build medicines based on messenger RNA (mRNA) technology. It became widely known for developing one of the first authorized COVID-19 vaccines in 2020, and continues to develop mRNA-based vaccines and therapies for infectious disease, cancer and rare genetic conditions.
