IG Group Holdings plc

IG Group Holdings plc is a British financial services company headquartered in London that provides online trading and investment platforms, including spread betting, contracts for difference, exchange-traded derivatives, stock trading and cryptocurrency trading. It was founded in 1974 by Stuart Wheeler with an initial investment of 30,000 pounds from six friends and now gives clients access to roughly 19,000 financial markets across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, regulated in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority. The company has expanded through acquisitions including the 1 billion dollar purchase of Tastytrade in 2021 and the 160 million pound acquisition of Freetrade in 2025. IG Group is listed on the London Stock Exchange as a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
