Franklin Resources, Inc.

Franklin Resources, Inc., known together with its subsidiaries as Franklin Templeton, is an American multinational investment management holding company with operations in more than 150 countries, offering asset management, wealth management and alternative investment services. It was founded in New York City in 1947 by Rupert H. Johnson Sr. as Franklin Distributors, Inc., moved its headquarters to San Mateo, California in 1973, and took its combined name after merging with Templeton, Galbraith & Hansberger, founded in 1954 under John Templeton, in 1992.
