Bank of Montreal

The Bank of Montreal, known by the initials BMO, is a Canadian multinational investment bank and financial services company. It was founded on June 23, 1817, in Montreal, Quebec, making it Canada's oldest bank. The bank keeps its formal headquarters in Montreal but has operated from Toronto, Ontario, where its operational headquarters and executive offices have been located since 1977. BMO ranks as the eighth largest bank in North America by assets, with 1.5 trillion dollars, and serves roughly 13 million customers globally. It operates across retail banking, investment banking through its BMO Capital Markets division, and wealth management services branded as BMO Nesbitt Burns.
