EQT Corporation

EQT Corporation is an American natural gas company headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the largest producer of natural gas in the United States. Its history traces to Equitable Gas Company, founded in 1888 to supply natural gas to the Pittsburgh area, and the company grew and restructured over more than a century, adopting the shortened name EQT as it evolved from a regional gas utility into a large-scale shale gas producer. EQT concentrates its production in the Appalachian Basin, drawing heavily on the Marcellus and Utica shale formations across Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio, and the company has pursued a strategy of consolidating Appalachian gas acreage and midstream infrastructure to lower its production costs.
