Ahold Delhaize

Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize N.V. is a Dutch-Belgian multinational retail and wholesale holding company formed by the 2016 merger of the Dutch grocer Ahold and the Belgian grocer Delhaize Group, both tracing to the 1800s: Delhaize to a shop the Delhaize brothers opened in Charleroi in 1867, and Ahold to Albert Heijn's 1887 purchase of his father's general store in Oostzaan. Headquartered in Zaandam, the Netherlands, the combined company operates supermarkets, convenience stores, hypermarkets, online grocery and non-food channels, pharmacies and liquor stores across nine countries, with about 7,910 stores and 414,000 employees as of 2024, roughly two thirds of its revenue coming from the United States. It trades on Euronext Amsterdam and Brussels under the ticker AD.
