Quaker Oats Company

The Quaker Oats Company is an American food manufacturer based in Chicago, Illinois, tracing its roots to the Quaker Mill Company, founded on September 4, 1877, in Ravenna, Ohio, whose Quaker Man logo became the first registered trademark for a breakfast cereal in the United States. The company built a major business in oats, oatmeal, breakfast cereals, and snacks, running the first national magazine advertising campaign for a breakfast cereal and introducing the cylindrical oats package in 1915. PepsiCo acquired the Quaker Oats Company in August 2001 for 14 billion dollars, and it now operates as a PepsiCo subsidiary.
