Zywiec Brewery is one of the largest breweries and beer producers in Poland, founded in 1856 in the town of Zywiec, producing a pale lager with 5.5 percent alcohol by volume. It is part of Grupa Zywiec, a group of five main breweries whose majority shareholder, holding a 99 percent stake, is the Dutch Heineken Group, and it has the capacity to produce 5 million hectolitres a year, the largest output within the group.
