Malto Brewery

Malto Brewery is a brewery in Albania that produces the Birra Tirana pilsener, first brewed in 1961 by the state agency Kombinati Ushqimor and named for the capital city. The company was privatized in 2001; production has grown from about 5,000 tons a year before privatization to roughly 13,000 tons, with exports to Kosovo and the United States, and Birra Tirana accounts for a large share, by some accounts up to 30 percent, of all beer sold in Albania.
