San Miguel Corporation is a Philippine multinational conglomerate and one of the largest and most diversified business groups in the Philippines. It traces its origin to a brewery opened in Manila on September 29, 1890, by Enrique Maria Barretto de Ycaza, and its flagship San Miguel Beer remains one of the best selling beers in the world. The company is headquartered at 40 San Miguel Avenue in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong, Metro Manila. Beyond brewing, San Miguel has expanded into food and beverage manufacturing, banking through its subsidiary Bank of Commerce, power generation, petroleum refining, telecommunications infrastructure, transportation, and real estate development, making it a dominant force across several sectors of the Philippine economy.
