Carlsberg A/S, trading as the Carlsberg Group, is a Danish multinational brewer headquartered in Copenhagen, founded in 1847 by J. C. Jacobsen. Since Jacobsen's death in 1887 the company has been majority owned by the Carlsberg Foundation, its flagship Carlsberg brand is named after Jacobsen's son Carl Jacobsen, and the group employs around 33,000 people worldwide.
