Priceline.com is an online travel agency that helps travelers find discounted rates on airline tickets, hotel stays and other travel purchases. It was founded in 1997 by Jay S. Walker and began operating online in 1998, originally built around a Name Your Own Price bidding model in which customers proposed prices for travel services. The company has since shifted toward standard search-and-book pricing and now operates in more than 200 countries and territories, working with over 400 airlines and 300,000 hotels. Priceline.com is headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, and operates as a subsidiary of Booking Holdings.
