Dubailand

Dubailand is an entertainment complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, developed by Tatweer, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding, and announced on October 23, 2003, with an estimated cost of 64.3 billion dollars and plans for 45 major projects and 200 sub projects intended to be twice the size of Walt Disney World. Development halted in 2008 amid the global financial crisis and Dubai's housing crash, then resumed in 2013 with 55 billion dollars raised toward completion, though some planned components were cancelled or relocated to the separate Dubai Parks and Resorts. Individual attractions bearing or associated with the Dubailand name have opened independently, including Dubai Miracle Gardens in 2013 and IMG Worlds of Adventure in 2016, even though the original megaproject was never completed as planned.
