Astrid Lindgren's World

Astrid Lindgren's World is a theme park in Vimmerby, Sweden, built at one third scale across 180,000 square meters and based on the settings and characters of Astrid Lindgren's books. It opened in 1981 as a Fairytale Village called Sagobyn, with the house Katthult as its first structure, and lets visitors meet characters such as Pippi Longstocking, Emil i Lonneberga, and Karlsson on the Roof. The park operates seasonally from May through August with daily stage performances, and its grounds include lodging, picnic areas, and places to eat.
