Ocean Park Hong Kong

Ocean Park Hong Kong is an animal-focused theme park on Hong Kong Island, operated by the not-for-profit Ocean Park Corporation, that opened on January 10, 1977 in Wong Chuk Hang. Spanning about 91.5 hectares across a Waterfront area and a Summit area linked by cable car and funicular, the park combines more than eighty rides and attractions with animal exhibits including giant pandas and dolphins, and it pairs entertainment with conservation education. After facing declining attendance following the 2005 opening of Hong Kong Disneyland, the park underwent a major redevelopment funded by a 5.5 billion Hong Kong dollar plan and grew into one of the most visited theme parks in Asia, though its marine mammal exhibits have also drawn criticism from wildlife advocates.
