Gatorland

Gatorland is a 110 acre wildlife attraction and amusement park in the Southchase area of Orlando, Florida, founded in 1949 by Owen Godwin on former ranching property and still family-owned. The park is both a theme park and a nature preserve, home to thousands of alligators, including rare leucistic alligators, and crocodiles, along with many other animals, and it offers a boardwalk over breeding marshes, zip-lining, swamp vehicle tours, a miniature railroad, animal feeding and wrestling demonstrations, an aviary and petting areas. Gatorland also serves a conservation role by buying alligators from trappers that would otherwise be slaughtered commercially, and it operates a satellite exhibit at the nearby Gaylord Palms resort in Kissimmee. Its breeding marsh appeared in the filming of the 1984 film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
