Ark Encounter is a Christian theme park in Williamstown, Kentucky, that opened on July 7, 2016. Its centerpiece is a full-scale representation of Noah's Ark based on the Genesis flood narrative, measuring 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and 51 feet high. The park is operated by Answers in Genesis, a young Earth creationist organization founded by the Australian creationist Ken Ham, who also founded the park itself and operates the nearby Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky. The park presents faith-based young Earth creationist teaching on the age of the universe and the coexistence of humans with non-avian dinosaurs.
