Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana is the plant complex in Gibson County, Indiana that was built in May 1996 to make a full size pickup truck for North America. It began building the Tundra in 1999 for the 2000 model year, the Sequoia a year later, and the Sienna from 2003, and it is the largest employer in the Evansville area. More than 7,000 people work there. The plant moved the Sienna into production in 2003 for its redesigned 2004 model, and in 2008 Toyota announced that Highlander production would start there in 2009 while Tundra output was consolidated in San Antonio.
