BMW Plant Regensburg is the BMW Group car factory in Regensburg in the Upper Palatinate region of Bavaria, which opened in 1986. It built the 3 Series for decades, starting with the E30, whose regular two door saloons ended there on 30 April 1991, and continuing through the E36, E46, E90 and F30 generations. It is one of the German plants that carried the compact executive saloon alongside Munich and Leipzig.
