The South African Press Association (SAPA) was the national news agency of South Africa, established on 1 July 1938 by the country's major newspapers as a cooperative wire service based in Johannesburg. It supplied news content, video, and photographs to media outlets across South Africa for more than seven decades. SAPA closed on 31 March 2015.
