NYSERNet, Inc., short for the New York State Education and Research Network, is a non-profit Internet service provider based in Troy, New York, founded in 1986. It mainly provides Internet access to universities, colleges, museums, health care facilities, schools and research institutions, and its original network, completed in 1987, was the first statewide regional IP network in the United States.
