World-NET was France's first consumer internet service provider, founded on February 15, 1994 in Paris by Sebastien Socchard, Philippe Langlois, Pierre Seguret and Xavier Niel. It offered dial-up access, web hosting and domain registration, was among the first providers integrated into Microsoft Windows installations, and operated until May 31, 2002, after being acquired by Kaptech in 2000.
