Waste Management, Inc. is an American waste management company headquartered in Houston, Texas, formed in 1968 when Wayne Huizenga and Dean Buntrock combined a group of Chicago-area garbage hauling businesses into a single company. It became the largest provider of waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in North America, operating landfills, transfer stations and recycling facilities alongside its residential and commercial collection business.
