W. P. Carey Inc. is an American real estate investment trust headquartered in New York City, founded in 1973 by investment banker William Polk Carey. It specializes in net lease commercial real estate, buying industrial, warehouse, office and retail properties and leasing them back to the companies that operate in them under long-term contracts, and grew into one of the largest net lease REITs in the world with a diversified property portfolio across the United States and Europe.
