United Launch Alliance

Industrials

United Launch Alliance, known as ULA, is an American launch service provider formed in December 2006 as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin Space and Boeing Defense, Space and Security. It designs, assembles, sells and launches rockets, using engines, solid rocket boosters and other components supplied by other companies. At its founding it inherited the Atlas V rocket from Lockheed Martin and the Delta rocket family from Boeing. The Delta family has since been retired and the Atlas V is being retired, while the Vulcan Centaur, whose development began in 2014 as a replacement for both, completed its maiden flight in January 2024. Its primary customers are the Department of Defense and NASA, and it also serves commercial clients.
