Turkcell is Turkey's largest mobile network operator, headquartered in Istanbul, founded in 1994 as the country's first GSM operator and long the market leader in Turkish mobile subscribers. The company is dual-listed, trading on Borsa Istanbul and, through American Depositary Receipts, on the New York Stock Exchange, and its ownership has historically involved a mix of Turkish and international shareholders including Turkey's Turkiye Wealth Fund. Beyond core mobile voice and data, Turkcell has expanded into fixed broadband, digital services, fintech and data centre operations within Turkey, and has held minority mobile investments in several neighboring markets including Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia and Northern Cyprus at various points in its history.
