The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Company, also known as the Milwaukee Interurban Lines or TMER&L, was the largest electric railway and electric utility system in Wisconsin, combining earlier horsecar, steam dummy and streetcar lines into one system serving most of Milwaukee and reaching throughout southeastern Wisconsin. The company also operated streetcar lines in Appleton, Kenosha and Racine, along with its own switching operations at the Port Washington and Lakeside power plants.
