Thales S.A.

Thales S.A. is a French multinational company headquartered in the Paris area, providing electronic systems and equipment for the aerospace, defense and security markets. Its lineage traces to Thomson-CSF, a French electronics group that adopted the Thales name in 2000, chosen as a deliberate reference to the ancient Greek philosopher Thales of Miletus. Thales designs avionics, radar systems, and defense electronics, and it is a major partner in European satellite and space programs, co-owning Thales Alenia Space and the ground-systems company Telespazio jointly with the Italian aerospace and defense company Leonardo.
