Storstockholms Lokaltrafik

Storstockholms Lokaltrafik, known as SL, is the public transport operator for Stockholm County, Sweden, structured as a limited company and tracing its roots to the 1915-1916 predecessor AB Stockholms Sparvagar before taking its current form in 1967. It oversees metro, commuter train, bus, tram, local rail and ferry services carrying roughly 700,000 daily passengers, with limited routes extending into Uppsala and Sodermanland counties, and is owned by the regional authority Region Stockholm. Since 2012 SL has functioned mainly as a brand under which Region Stockholm's traffic board contracts multiple private operators, including Transdev, SJ, VR Sverige, Keolis and Stockholms Sparvagar, to run services, and the company reported annual revenue of 19.269 billion Swedish kronor.
