Schlumberger Limited, rebranded SLB in 2022, is the world's largest oilfield services company, providing technology, project management and information solutions to the oil and gas industry. It was founded in France in 1926 by brothers Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger, building on their earlier work in electrical prospecting methods, and grew into a global company with major operating centers in Houston, Paris, London and The Hague. Schlumberger supplies services across the full life cycle of oil and gas wells, including drilling, formation evaluation, well construction and production, and has increasingly positioned itself around energy technology and lower-carbon services. It operates in more than 100 countries and is one of the most widely recognized names in the oilfield services sector.
