Ruptly GmbH is a Russian state-funded video news agency headquartered in Berlin, registered in 2012 and beginning operations on April 4, 2013, and is a subsidiary of the state-controlled broadcaster RT, funded through the ANO TV-Novosti organization. Its Berlin newsroom of roughly 80 journalists from 42 countries, with additional offices in Moscow and Beijing, produces and distributes video-on-demand news content to media outlets worldwide, and the company also owns the Redfish channel and holds a major stake in the digital content company Maffick.
