Ricoh Company, Ltd. is a Japanese multinational imaging and electronics company headquartered in Tokyo. It was founded in 1936 as Riken Kankoshi Co., Ltd., a maker of photographic paper and cameras spun off from the Riken research conglomerate, and took the Ricoh name in 1963. The company is known today primarily for office imaging equipment, including copiers, printers and multifunction devices, along with associated document management and IT services, competing directly with the already-live Canon Inc. and Xerox in the office equipment market.
