Rhythm & Hues Studios was an American visual effects and animation company founded in 1987. It won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects three times, in 1995 for Babe, in 2007 for The Golden Compass and in 2012 for Life of Pi, and it also received four Scientific and Technical Academy Awards. In early 2013 the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It was then purchased by 34x118 Holdings, LLC, an affiliate of Prana Studios, and kept the same name, so the brand continued under new ownership after the bankruptcy. The record behind this entry is a short encyclopedia lead, so the founders, headquarters and ownership history before 2013 are left for further research.
