PTT Public Company Limited is Thailand's national petroleum and gas company, headquartered in Bangkok, the largest company in Thailand by revenue. It was founded in 1978 as the Petroleum Authority of Thailand, a state enterprise created to secure and develop the country's petroleum and natural gas supply, and it was corporatized and listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2001 while remaining majority state-owned. PTT operates across the natural gas value chain, from exploration and production through its affiliate PTT Exploration and Production to gas transmission, petrochemicals and a large domestic and international fuel retail network, and it functions as the central pillar of Thailand's energy sector.
