Prada S.p.A. is an Italian luxury fashion house headquartered in Milan, founded in 1913 by Mario Prada as a leather goods shop. The company passed to Mario Prada's granddaughter Miuccia Prada, who took creative control in 1978 and, working with her husband Patrizio Bertelli, built Prada into a global fashion house known for a minimalist aesthetic across ready-to-wear clothing, handbags and footwear. Prada Group also owns the Miu Miu, Church's and Car Shoe brands, and it licenses the Prada name to Luxottica for eyewear and to L'Oreal for fragrances and cosmetics.
